Northern Stage’s Youth Ensemble Studio (YES) program will perform Stories of White River Junction, a production created by YES students as their fall community engagement project. It takes place on the Miller Stage at the Village of White River Junction.
This event is free and open to Village residents and the general public.
What does community mean to you?
Stories of White River Junction is an evolution of the devised theater pieces we have done for the last two years with Brown Girl Dreaming and Bread and Roses, Too. In both of these pieces, a book served as the source material to inspire us on a set of themes. Then we went out into the community to interview people and collect stories around those themes. This year, we will go straight to the interviews, because the topic we have in mind is very rich: Stories of White River Junction. White River Junction is exploding with food, fashion, and new housing! This small one-block town has so many treasures and a score of amazing people who champion their unique businesses.
The production is directed by Eric Love, Director of Education for Northern Stage.
