A Message From Your Executive Director
Dear Residents and Families,
Again this week, I am pleased to welcome several new residents to The Village. Recently we saw the arrival of John & Polly and Catherine. In September we will be joined by Ruth, Mary Alice, Christine, and Charlotte. Please help us welcome them to our community.
On Tuesday, 8/31 we will host our August Education Café event at 2:30pm in Smith & Sons Kitchen. Bayada’s Cynthia Stadler will discuss Getting Your Affairs in Order. She will outline what medical, financial and legal documents you should compile and organize, and how to communicate your wishes with friends and family. She’ll also explain why right now is the best time to get your plan put together. Let the concierge know if you plan to attend. Watch for our next education event on September 28th.
Check out the pictures below of some of our director staff cooking meals for our residents. We’ve had some fun trying on different roles. Thank you for all of the staff who put in that extra effort.
Thank you for your continued support and enjoy the waning summer weather.
Nikki
Community Connection
The last few weeks at The Village have been fantastic. I, Jennifer, have been leaping into my new role here as the Activity Coordinator for the Assisted Living community. We have done some amazing things together including food shopping, clothes shopping, and getting some amazing summer clearance deals. We also enjoyed indoor music as well as a live outdoor performance of The Million Dollar Quartet at Northern Stage. One of the residents’ favorite things was baking together, and then devouring, a delicious rum cake in our Smith & Sons Kitchen. I want to thank all the residents here for your patience with me as I am learning all about your unique desires and gifts. Next month we can look forward to more live musical performances, live guest speakers, multiple opportunities for art, meet and greet opportunities, as well as an in-house cooking demonstration by a local former gluten-free restaurant owner. I’m excited for what’s to come and love all the smiles that greet me daily.

Community Connection – Vaccines
We recently announced to our staff that vaccines will be mandated for all staff by October 16, 2021. We believe this will go a long way to keeping us all safe this fall and winter.
We are watching for guidance from the state and logistical information from our pharmacy about the possibility of providing booster doses of the vaccine to our staff this fall. As soon as we know more we will communicate that to all.
