A Message From Your Executive Director
Dear Residents and Families,
Thank you to those of you who returned your Resident Satisfaction Surveys. I’m looking forward to seeing the results. I truly appreciate the time you put into it.
Today we began our new process for ordering meal delivery. If residents have questions about the process the concierge is happy to explain. I am hopeful that putting the process into place will improve the dining experience for all. On Tuesday, July 6th, Adam and I will host a discussion group with residents to talk about how the process is working.
As you all probably saw from my letter last week, transition of ownership for The Village is scheduled to happen next week. I want to personally assure you again that nothing here on the ground at The Village is changing. Same operations, same staff, same great place to live. I’m excited about the future here. It is looking bright!
Thank you for your continued support and enjoy this beautiful weather.
Nikki
Community Connection
Over the past two weeks at The Village residents have enjoyed daily fitness and group walking, ice cream & root beer float socials on Cantore Terrace, Happy Hour in Teddy’s Pub, coffee & current events, and art projects in Abbott Studio. Our weekly outings included trips to AVA Gallery & Art Center, Tip Top Pottery, the American Precision Museum in Windsor, VT, and Fore-U Mini Golf! On Sunday, June 20th residents gathered in Teddy’s Pub & Cantore Terrace for a lunchtime cookout to celebrate Father’s Day – complete with BBQ ribs & grilled swordfish, refreshing lemonade, and fun summer tunes! It was a big hit for all. Thank you to Adam Coulter and the kitchen staff for their hard work!
Over the next two weeks residents can look forward to outdoor walking groups, daily movies, flower arranging with flowers from Gates Garden, birdhouse assembling, live music in Miller Stage, and our bi-weekly painting class with local artist Gaal Shepherd. Weekly outings will include shopping trips, the Montshire Museum of Science, Billings Farm in Woodstock, VT, lunch and a tour at Harpoon Brewery, and lunch at Ninety-Nine Restaurant & Pub. Residents continue to meet weekly for our lively lunch discussion group to brainstorm new activity ideas, plan upcoming outings, and choose movies for the week. Be sure to join us on Wednesdays at 11:45am in Windsor Dining Room with your ideas and suggestions!
To celebrate the 4th of July, we will have another lunchtime cookout on Cantore Terrace at 12:00pm, live music, and tie dye t-shirt making!

Team Member Spotlight
Suzette Barbour – Director of Health Services
Madison joined our caregiver team recently and has been a valued and welcome addition. She comes to us with prior experience in long-term care and was recommended by two of our other star team members. Madison currently works on the day shift so be sure to say hi when you see her. When she is not at work Madison enjoys spending time with her dogs Shadow, Bandit, and Charlie. Some of her favorite things are: spending time with friends, shopping – especially for shoes, drinking iced coffee, and cheering on the Patriots. Welcome, Madison. We’re thrilled to have you here.
Talk Time
Join Nikki every other Wednesday at 10:00 am via Zoom for COVID and community updates and have an opportunity to ask questions. The Zoom calls will occur the same week as the newsletter is published. We will have a call this week, June 23rd. I look forward to seeing you virtually!
