The Village at White River Junction has been announced as the winner of the 6th annual Senior Housing News (SHN) Architecture & Design Awards for Assisted Living.
More than 100 communities across the country and beyond submitted new construction and renovation projects, vying for top honors.
“The 2019 SHN Architecture & Design Awards submissions surpassed our expectations,” said George Yedinak, founder of Senior Housing News. “It’s a privilege to showcase these projects from around the world. The owners, operators and developers continue to implement cutting-edge work from world-class architects, designers and engineers.”
Since 2013, the SHN Architecture & Design Awards have celebrated unique projects and companies that are improving the lives of seniors through innovative design. A team of expert panelists from the senior living industry judge entries across ten categories, evaluating design and aesthetic criteria, landscape, architecture, community functionality and integration, and more.
“We were honored to be nominated for this prestigious award and absolutely thrilled to have won, amongst such an impressive field,” says co-developer Brooke Ciardelli. “Since its inception, The Village has prided itself on its cultural links to the wider White River Junction community and to be recognized by SHN is confirmation that what we have created here is truly special.”
Amongst the distinctions which separated The Village from the field was its promotion of cultural engagement with the wider local community. Resident Artist initiatives, close links with nearby Northern Stage, a detailed program of public events and easy access to local arts, cultural and culinary establishments ensure The Village and its residents integrate well into downtown White River Junction.
Joel Nelson, president and CEO for Life Care Services, The Village’s award-winning operator, says “The Village at White River Junction is a beautiful community and the LCS team congratulates all involved in its design and development. We are honored to provide management services for this best-in-class community.”
